Join us onboard our new gulet The Sole and experience the Wonders of Croatia, our new itinerary for Summer 2022. Our new 6 cabin, 24-meter-long traditional sailing gulet offers the most relaxing way to discover the wonders of the stunning Croatian coastline and surrounding islands.

The Sole is furnished in the traditional gulet style of rich mahogany and polished teak wood. Recently refitted, this two-mast boat is wonderfully comfortable and extremely well maintained. The experience of travelling under-sail while listening to the gentle sound of the sea is a beautiful and unforgettable experience.

The gulet offers 6 cabin accommodation (4 double cabins and 2 superior double cabins) and sleeps a maximum of 12 people, with ensuite to each cabin. Bed linen, towels, hair dryer and beach towel are provided in each cabin and all linen is changed midweek on your stay. The salon lounge is equipped with a TV and it is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink in the evening. There is a large dining table on the rear deck of the boat where you can enjoy delicious  meals prepared by our on-board chef. The gulet also offers a bar where drinks are available to purchase until around 11pm. Wi-fi connection is also provided.

The experienced Croatian crew is comprised of the captain who has overall responsibility for the boat, a chef, a steward and a deck hand. They are all there to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. The experience onboard our gulets is very much like that of a small boutique hotel. The staff - who all speak English - will do their upmost to meet any needs you might have whilst holidaying with us, as well as sharing their knowledge and love of this beautiful country, its stunning coastline and its amazing history.

While on The Sole, you will be able to enjoy some gulet pastimes - we have fishing gear for you to use and snorkelling equipment so that you can fully discover the beautiful marine life within the crystal-clear water. Perhaps you would like to take out a canoe... Swimming is the most popular activity and there will be plenty of opportunities to take a dip in the warm, calm waters of the Adriatic Sea.

The experience of a gulet holiday is very different from that of a cruise on a big ship. You can't help but feel a much greater connection with the sea while the intimacy of a smaller boat means many guests make friendships that last a lifetime. Above anything else it is fun, exciting and relaxing experience which offers you a real break from the routine of day-to-day life. A gulet cruise offers a great environment for reflection and resetting from our busy lives and a good hearty vitamin sea!

The Experience

Relaxation is really the name of the game.  With a crew dedicated to your comfort, enjoyment and safety, you are left free to enjoy both the sailing and the shore visits.  The nature of our small group cruises means there will be ample opportunity to get to know your fellow guests.  The planned itinerary provides a combination of visits to historic towns and villages as well as more remote parts of the coastline, with plenty of time for the superb swimming in the crystal waters of the Adriatic.

Occasionally weather conditions will require a change to the planned route and these decisions are always in the hands of the captain. Breakfast and lunch (or dinner on change-over days) are prepared and served on board whilst for other meals you are free to choose a local restaurant. Please note there are three menus available on board (Normal, vegetarian and gluten free) and we are not able to cater for vegan or any other requirements.

The crew operates a well-stocked and reasonably priced bar and guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol on board. Storage space on board is limited so we advise you to bring as little luggage as possible packed in soft bags.

During most of the season the gulet is available for individual cabin charter, but we are also able to offer whole boat charters subject to availability.

Day 1  - Tuesday - Trogir ( dock ) to Split sailing approximately 2h
Your holiday begins from Trogir, just 4 miles away from Split Airport, where you will be able to embark from 16:00. Welcome drink and snacks will be served and your Captain will give you a welcome and safety briefing. The boat will leave for Split where the dinner will be served. Guests can then spend the rest of the evening exploring nearly 1700 years of history of Split. Admire famous landmarks such us Diocletian's Palace, Golden Gate, Cathedral of Saint Domnius and discover hidden secrets of ancient city's colourful past.

Day 2 - Wednesday - Rogoznica (at anchor) sailing approximately 4 h
We will depart early in the morning and breakfast will be served whilst sailing in the peace and quiet of the Adriatic. The cruise will continue to the small bathing bay where lunch will be served. After lunch you will head down to Rogoznica. The guests will be tendered to a quaint fisherman’s village where they can also visit a small aquarium. There is an optional wine tasting trip, where you will be picked up and taken to a local vineyard. You can then enjoy the rest of the evening, perhaps enjoying a meal in one of the charming taverns before returning to the gulet.

Day 3 - Thursday - Kornati (at anchor) sailing approximately 3h
The Gulet will leave after the breakfast to head to the National Park Kornati. This archipelago of 89 islands and reefs was described by the famous Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw in 1929 as follows - "On the last day of Creation, God desired to crown his work and thus created the Kornati Islands, out of tears, stars and breath."  Lunch will be served while admiring the beautiful coastal panoramas of the Kornati. The National Park was created in 1980 and there are no permanent residents of the islands. Famous as a nautical paradise, you will be able to swim and snorkel in the clear water amongst corals and sponges. If you are lucky you may even see a sea turtle or a bottle nosed dolphin. As evening falls our crew will prepare a traditional Dalmatian dinner for you to enjoy under the stars.

Day 4 – Friday - Zadar (dock) approximately sailing 3h
The boat will leave after breakfast where we will then cruise up to the beautiful island of Ugljen, located across from Zadar. After a stop for a swim, you will have the opportunity to be tendered to the island where you can spend the afternoon enjoying the beach. The gulet will then cruise to Zadar where you will spend the evening. The city of Zadar, is a true historical marvel, continuously occupied for 3,000 years. The history is apparent everywhere from the Roman sites to the many Venetian Gates. You can view the sun slowly setting on the horizon - a real moment to remember. There are also plenty of places to whet your appetite with the mouth-watering authentic cuisine of the region on offer.

Day 5 – Saturday - Sibenik ( dock) approximately sailing 4 h
The boat will leave after breakfast. We will stop for swimming at the Island Pasman and serve lunch in a small and quite lagoon by the Island Murter. You will then visit to the UNESCO World Heritage 16th Century St Nicholas Fortress on the Island of Ljuljevac is a fascinating experience. In the evening you will be free to spend a few hours exploring Sibenik and the unique architecture of this beautiful hidden gem.

Day 6 – Sunday - Skradin (dock or anchor depending on availability) sailing approximately 2h
Today after breakfast we will enjoy a pleasant sail though the curving channels of this stretch of picturesque coastline. You will arrive at Skradin, a romantic Mediterranean town of intertwined streets, arches and staircases located at the National Park. After lunch you will have the opportunity to take a trip to visit the Krka waterfalls - a sight not to be missed! You will be transferred by boat to the centre of the National Park, where you can enjoy an afternoon enjoying the spectacular waterfall and natural pools, or exploring the many old mills and tavernas. Once back in Skradin, you’ll be free to spend the evening relaxing. If you would like to enjoy an optional wine tasting experience and meal this can be arranged.

Day 7 - Monday - Trogir (at dock) sailing approximately 6 h
After the breakfast we will set sail back towards Trogir. There will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy swimming along the way, including a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon. When it comes to snorkelling and enjoying water sports this is the place to visit! This stunning lagoon makes for a wonderful last day of your cruise. After an active day, your final evening in Trogir offers a chance to relax and reflect on a truly memorable holiday.

Return home – Tuesday
After your breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye to your crew and I’m sure take away memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
